Research InterestsThe research focus of my lab is on the ecology, conservation, and natural history of amphibians and reptiles. I am generally interested in how animals interact with their environment and how constraints such as temperature, energy use, and water balance influence behavior, life-history, and ecology. In the field we use biodiversity surveys, population monitoring, mark-recapture methods, focal species observations, and radio telemetry to monitor organisms in their environment. In the lab we use analysis of respiratory gases (O2/CO2), radio isotopes, and standard immunological assays (ELISA/Western Blot) to investigate the physiological consequences of organism-environment interactions.
